The Buff variety isn’t a solid buff color, but rather is a Buff Columbian pattern—buff-colored with black in the tail and black lacing on the hackles.

The Dark Brahma has a silver penciled plumage pattern—a fine black lacing on silver feathers.

And the Light Brahma has a typical Columbian pattern—white-colored with black in the tail and black lacing on the hackles. Light Brahmas are the most common variety.
