You’ll need to use an indoor space heater that can heat your brooding room to at least 70-75°.
For shipped chicks, I recommend a space heater that can heat up to 95°.
The BEST heat source options for brooding chicks
K&H makes my favorite brooder heat plate. You can find it on Chewy and Amazon.
Unfortunately, I can’t find a larger K&H brooder plate for those of you raising large numbers of chicks. You could purchase more than one if needed, or try a different brand.
I have read a lot of good things about the Brinsea Ecoglow brooders. I’ve never used them myself, but you may want to look into one of those if you are raising a larger number of chicks.
Brinsea Ecoglo 1200 - This claims to support 35 chicks, which means it will likely support 17 or 18.
Brinsea Ecoglow 50 - This claims to support 50 chicks, which means it will likely support 25.
