Do you want clean-legged or feather-legged Marans?
Most Marans chickens in the United States are of the feather-legged or “French” variety. Feather-legged chickens require more care than their clean-legged counterparts. You can learn more about this in my article, Considering Marans chickens? The 14 things you must know first.
The clean-legged or “English” variety of Marans are much more practical chickens, but are, unfortunately, becoming rarer and rarer in the U.S.
However, the following hatcheries do carry some Marans of the clean-legged English variety. These hatcheries are:
Be aware that all of these hatcheries also sell the feather-legged French variety of Marans too.
